The Reesor Family in Canada

The Reesor Family in Canada Genealogical and Historical Society was established to promote an interest in the history of the Canadian branch of the Reesor family and to establish and maintain a written history and genealogy for future generations.

The Canadian branch of the Reesor family originates with Christian Reesor (1747-1806) and his wife Fanny Reiff (1751-1818) who were born in Pennsylvania and emigrated from Franklin County to Upper Canada in 1804. Among the earliest settlers in Markham Township, located in Upper Canada (now the Province of Ontario), these brave pioneers worked diligently to carve a life and a living from the soil. Today, many descendants of Christian Reesor and Fanny Reiff still live in Markham Township; many have moved on to other parts of Canada, the United States, Australia and elsewhere in the world.

It is our wish that future generations will continue to preserve and foster our Canadian, American and European roots and heritage. With this Web site, we hope to make contact with cousins who have lost touch and would like to reconnect with us.

Thank you for visiting our Web site. Enjoy your "tour", tell your family and friends about us, and come back again soon.
